Q1. what skills do you find valuable?

Being able to sit in front of a computer and do focused work for several hours + general job skills (communication etc)

Q2.what qualifications do you think someone should go for pursing a job in this field?

BS in CS, or a bootcamp. Anything beyond BS isn't really necessary.

Q3.what are the hours most would work in the field?

40hr, 9-5ish. More at a startup

Q4.how do you think the job market for the industry will change in the future ?

Q5.do you feel there are a lot of options for work in the field?

yeah. If you can do software you can work in basically any field you want. Everyone needs sw engineers

Q6.what's the highest level of education someone getting into the field should go for?

BS

Q7.what are some of the biggest challenges in the field?

learning how perf works at big companies, keeping your skills fresh

Q8.what are some things you find frustrating?

can be a struggle to find which projects are high leverage

Q9.what would you say is the most rewarding or best part about this field?

get to build cool metaphysical machines and also get paid a lot to do so

Q10.any advice on getting started on getting into this field?

just start working on some projects and put things on GitHub. Talk to people in the space and build connections. Move to SF. This post is also good.
